This week of November 1st was the beginning of official House of Assembly proceedings.
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday we thanked the Governor General and spoke to our constituencies. I was very encouraged by the responses from the Speech From The Throne. My fellow Members of Parliament have been hard at work and have foreshadowed a real plan to help Bahamians. Abaco was in their minds; relative Ministers had mentioned Abaco specifically in their speeches. This shows that in this Davis/Cooper administration, the family islands will get the attention needed.
My speech gave a quick insight on what Abaconian's immediate needs are, highlighting the lack of empathy and lack of attention we have had in our time of need. I strongly believe Abaco will rise again into an economic powerhouse.
Progress is continuously being made on recovery initiatives and programs to jump start small businesses.
I encourage Abaconians to put their ideas into reality and be ready to take advantage of our upcoming Tourism rebound. Craft products and activities for visitors are essential. Also, all those agriculture farmers, fisherman, and livestock farmers now is the time to expand; we as a nation, and particularly Abaco, must meet the food needs of our people and foreign visitors. The less we import, the more resilient we become.
The upcoming week is going to be very productive and a big step forward for Abaco.

Over the Weekend, I visited constituents. It is important to me that I spend time speaking with my fellow Abaconians. This is the best way for me to know real needs from people who may not email or do better with in person conversation. Hope to see you all as much as time allows.
My website is halfway to completion, feel free to browse while under construction. The finished product will have the information needed from government and private sector related to Abaco. Updates will be sent via a newsletter, please sign up on the website to receive updates.
